An eagerly anticipated event is set to bring joy and excitement to the residents of Mineral Wells. The 52nd edition of the West Virginia Interstate Fair and Exposition will commence on Tuesday, continuing until June 21st at the Butcher Bend fairgrounds. This year's fair promises a diverse array of attractions designed to captivate visitors of all ages. From thrilling rodeo performances to interactive petting zoos, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The opening day features the Rafter M Rodeo, an exhilarating showcase of bull riding, barrel racing, bronco riding, and mutton busting. In addition to these adrenaline-pumping events, attendees can indulge in traditional fair cuisine, participate in various contests, and explore exhibits that celebrate local talent and craftsmanship. Russ Collins, the vice president of the fair board, emphasized the affordability of the event, with tickets priced at just $10 per person for those aged three and above. This inclusive pricing allows families to experience not only the rodeo but also stage entertainment, track events, and carnival rides under a single admission fee.

Throughout the week, the fair offers a rich schedule filled with engaging activities. Wednesday brings a horse show and cowboy church, while Thursday evening entertains with Clint Carsey and the Track Layers. Friday night showcases Ridgeline, and Saturday concludes with performances by 5 Spot. Motorsport enthusiasts will delight in mud bogs and tractor pulls scheduled across several days. Additionally, educational livestock learning stations provide insights into farming practices, ensuring both education and enjoyment for fairgoers.

This annual gathering serves as more than just a source of entertainment; it strengthens community bonds and fosters a spirit of unity. By offering affordable access to such a wide range of activities, the West Virginia Interstate Fair promotes inclusivity and shared experiences among its participants. It exemplifies how tradition and innovation can coexist harmoniously, creating lasting memories for all who attend.
