In an effort to foster community spirit and camaraderie, the Greater Goodwill AME Church in Mount Pleasant is set to host its first-ever Food Truck Rodeo. Scheduled for late June, this event aims to bring together residents through a shared love of food, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with culinary exploration, social interaction, and family-oriented activities. Pastor Clinton McPherson envisions the church as a cornerstone of the local neighborhood, using meaningful events like this to strengthen community ties.

The Food Truck Rodeo will feature an array of well-known local vendors offering diverse cuisines that cater to all tastes. Attendees can indulge in offerings from establishments such as Mazyck Grille, Cast Iron, Tamashii, P&S New Jersey Style Cheese Steak & Subs, and Carolima’s. Beyond the mobile kitchens, Freeman Farms will also be present, providing fresh produce directly sourced from nearby farms.

This initiative not only highlights the flavors of the region but also signifies the beginning of what could become a monthly tradition for the church. The gathering is designed to create a convivial environment where participants can relax and enjoy the evening while deepening their connections within the community.

On June 26th, from early evening until nightfall, the church grounds at 2818 Highway 17 N will transform into a lively hub of activity. Guests are invited to bring along personal seating options like lawn chairs or blankets to make themselves comfortable during the event.

As the sun sets over Mount Pleasant, the Food Truck Rodeo promises to deliver more than just delicious meals; it offers a chance for neighbors to come together in celebration of their shared community. This inaugural event marks the start of what many hope will evolve into a cherished monthly tradition, fostering unity and joy among the townsfolk.
